The Circle Media Plus is an independent digital newsroom and creative studio serving African and diaspora communities across the UK, Nigeria, and globally.
We welcome volunteers and students who want to contribute to credible journalism, meaningful storytelling, and public interest media. Whether you can offer a few hours a week or are seeking a structured newsroom experience, there is a place for you at TCMP.
VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES:
Volunteers are central to the journalism and creative studio work of TCMP. The roles are flexible, remote-friendly, and focused-driven on real editorial and production output.
Available volunteer roles include the following:
- Writers and Contributors
- Editors and proofreaders
- Research and fact-checking support
- Operations and editorial support
- Social media and community engagement
- Video, audio, livestream, and podcast studio support.
You need not be a professional journalist because at TCMP, we welcome individuals with writing, technical, organisational, and creative skills who are passionate about truth, accuracy, and public interest reporting.
WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS STAND TO GAIN:
Volunteers are assured of hands-on media experience, editorial guidance and mentorship, portfolio credits with published work, and references for recognition of contribution, capacity, and impact.
STUDENT PLACEMENTS:
TCMP provides structured student placements for those studying journalism, media, communications, digital storytelling, and related fields.
Our placements are flexible and remote-friendly, designed to complement academic commitments. Students work on live newsroom and studio projects, gaining practical experience, professional exposure, and published bylines.
Placement areas cover news reporting, investigations, video and documentary production, podcasting and audio storytelling, digital and social media content, and editorial support.

Students graduate from our placement programme with published portfolio work, direct mentorship from experienced journalists and creatives, hands on newsroom and studio experience, and the practical skills required for competitive media careers.
